On 11th August 2026, TGCU held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), bringing together members to review the organization’s progress and chart a course for the future. The meeting also marked an important leadership transition, with members welcoming a new Board of Directors to guide the organization in the next five years. The colorful event was supported by Pearl Bank Uganda and Tropical Bank Uganda, whose contribution demonstrated the importance of collaboration and partnerships in advancing the sector initiatives.
The newly appointed Board of Directors takes office with a broad range of responsibilities and priorities. Among the key tasks on its agenda is the structuring of grain trade, an important area with the potential to strengthen coordination, improve market participation, and create greater opportunities for stakeholders across the grains value chain.
The Board has therefore been entrusted with a comprehensive “basket” of priorities aimed at strengthening TGCU’s operations and positioning the organization for sustainable growth. Delivering on these priorities will require strategic leadership, effective stakeholder engagement, and continued collaboration with partners and sector stakeholders.
The 2026 AGM consequently represents not only a change in leadership but also an opportunity for TGCU to renew its commitment to its members and stakeholders. With the new Board in place, attention now turns to translating the agreed priorities into practical actions and measurable results.
